Welcome to The Kiwanis Club of Evanston.
2011 FACES OF EVANSTON VIDEO AND PHOTO CONTEST
Hello everyone and welcome to another amazing year at ” Faces of Evanston.” We are entering our 7th year and we have many new changes we would like to share with you. First of all, we have added a video component to the contest. We are now “Faces of Evanston” photo/video contest.
The videos will be 1 minute in length and a cash prize will awarded. The content of video that is entered must be taken in Evanston and can use photos or live steam as its format. The video entered may fit this year’s theme of “reflection” but it’s not mandatory since we use 5 different criteria during the judging process.
Second, we have updated our website and have added additional features to make the process more user friendly. We have included Facebook and twitter to share with friends. Another wonderful feature is the option to view the photos via our mobile devices. This year for the first time the site will continue to be active during the year for updates and posts of blogs and stories as the exhibit travels the city.
The contest begins June 1, 2011 and will end Aug 15, 2011. At that time the photos and videos will be judges by a panel of judges that are experts in their field. Please see blog of judging criteria. We will host a reception at Noyes Cultural Arts Center on Thursday September 17 at 5pm to 7:30pm. The winners will be announced and the prizes will be handed out at that time. The event also host entertainment, appetizers and wine.
We at “Faces of Evanston” truly respect and believe in the importance of the creative process in building communities and society. The “Faces of Evanston” has become a loved and cherished event by the community as it travels throughout the city. Their is a pride that is expressed by the public as they view the photos. So videographers and photographers please take your camera’s out and capture the amazing reflections of our fabulous city.
